Are older Lladró figurines from the 1950s and 1960s more valuable?

Lladró Porcelain

Early Lladró pieces from the 1950s and 1960s attract strong interest from certain collectors. These works often show a different sculptural style, with more rustic glazes and experimental forms that predate the familiar pastel look. Production numbers were lower in those years, so surviving examples in perfect condition can bring higher prices than many modern pieces of similar size. Value still depends on subject, demand and condition. Some early designs look rather simple compared with later showpieces and may appeal mainly to specialists. Cracks, discoloration and heavy restoration reduce collectability even for rare early works. Auction records show that certain vintage models, particularly large or unusual ones, can outstrip newer limited editions, yet many small early figures trade at modest sums. Collectors who like this era often use backstamp variations and catalogues to date pieces as accurately as possible.
