Collectors often associate Bow with the development of William Duesbury. Duesbury acquired the Chelsea porcelain business in 1770, creating what many call the Chelsea-Derby period. The Derby Porcelain Society's history states that after acquiring Chelsea, Duesbury acquired Bow and quickly closed it down right after. Older reference books list Bow alongside Chelsea and Derby, where academics debate the movement of workers, shapes, and patterns. However, linking a single object to a transfer can be difficult without solid documentation.
