How can I recognise a real Höchst Porcelain mark?

Original Höchst pieces from the eighteenth century use the Mainz wheel mark, painted in blue under the glaze. The wheel has six spokes and appears on the underside of the object, often near a foot rim. Shapes and painting styles changed over time, so specialists study the form of the wheel, the thickness of the lines, and any painter’s or turner’s marks nearby. The modern Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur retains the wheel emblem, still applied in underglaze blue, which links current production to the historic factory. Comparing your piece with museum examples or reliable mark guides helps confirm authenticity and approximate age.
