Hand wash only using lukewarm water and mild soap, then dry with a soft cloth. Avoid dishwashers, prolonged soaking, and hot water as old glazes and filled cracks may react badly. Keep figurines out of direct sunlight to protect the enamel colour and gilding. Use stable stands for display and avoid heavy metal plate hangers that can scratch the glaze at the edge. When moving pieces, lift figurines by the base, not branches or attached flowers. If you see an older repair with stained glue lines, a professional ceramic restorer can assess it and advise you on how to safely clean it, as well as whether the repair needs attention or should be left untouched.
