How rare is eighteenth-century Höchst Porcelain?

Höchst Porcelain

Eighteenth-century Höchst Porcelain is less common than Meissen, as the factory operated for a shorter time and on a smaller scale. The original firm closed in 1796 after financial problems, which limited later production. Museum collections in Mainz and Frankfurt list many important examples, yet the overall pool of surviving pieces remains modest compared with larger manufactories. Well-preserved figures, complete groups, and large service pieces appear only occasionally at auction. Rarity, combined with documented court connections, creates a strong draw for specialised collectors.
