How to distinguish a Bow figure from a Chelsea figure?

One clue is the method of molding. Bow figurines are often described as pressed in molds, rather than cast, which is what is associated with Chelsea. This difference can be seen in the seam lines, joints, and the sense of modeling even after painting. Another clue is the body and glaze: soft bow-shaped mastic can appear creamy and glassy, while the glaze resembles the colour of ivory. The attribution remains strict for unmarked objects, so collectors weigh several cues simultaneously: the tone of the paste, the appearance of the glaze, the size and weight, and the figurine's relationship to known models.
