What happened to the Chelsea factory in 1784?

Several key references give a clear end date of 1784. The British Museum describes the Chelsea-Derby period as lasting until 1784, after which the Chelsea factory site was demolished, and the moulds, patterns and many workers were associated with the move to Derby. This date is important for two reasons, as it defines "Chelsea" as a mid-18th century story, and it marks a point at which later Derby products may have Chelsea heritage, even though they are not made in Chelsea.
