Höchst Porcelain

Höchst Porcelain refers to the products of the Höchster Porzellan-Manufaktur in Frankfurt-Höchst, Germany. The original factory opened in 1746 as the “Kurfürstlich mainzische Porzellanmanufaktur” under Johann Christoph Göltz and Adam Friedrich von Löwenfinck, a painter from Meissen. It became the second-oldest German porcelain manufactory after Meissen and the only historic one in Hesse. The firm closed in 1796 after bankruptcy, then a modern successor was founded in 1947 and still operates in Frankfurt-Höchst. Its logo is the Mainz wheel painted in underglaze blue. Collector’s value Höchst for Rococo and early Neoclassical designs, lively figurines, and refined tableware that often appeared at aristocratic courts. Today the brand offers both historical reissues and contemporary designs, always based on hard-paste porcelain.
