Lladró Porcelain

NAO is a related porcelain brand created by Lladró in the late 1960s. It was conceived as a more affordable line with simpler styling and a slightly different artistic direction. Production still takes place in the Valencia region, though in a separate facility from the main Lladró factory. NAO figurines feature softer modelling, fewer applied details and a more relaxed everyday feel, often depicting children, couples, pets and family life. Main-line Lladró pieces usually show more complex compositions and more elaborate decoration, and many appear in limited or numbered editions. NAO backstamps use the word “NAO” with a small sailing boat symbol, while Lladró carries the well-known bell-flower logo and stylised crown. Collectors sometimes begin with NAO pieces because entry prices are lower, then move into Lladró as their interest grows. On the secondary market, high-end Lladró sculptures usually command higher prices than NAO, especially for older or limited works.
