Imperial Porcelain Factory

The Imperial Porcelain Factory is a historic porcelain manufacturer in Saint Petersburg, Russia, founded in 1744 as the first porcelain factory in the Russian Empire. It was established under Empress Elizabeth to supply the court with fine tableware and decorative pieces. Over time it produced services for the Winter Palace and other residences, as well as presentation gifts for European courts. During the Soviet era it was renamed the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory, then in 2005 it returned to the Imperial Porcelain name. Today the factory still operates in Saint Petersburg and offers dinner services, tea and coffee sets, vases, figurines, and gift items in both classic and modern designs. Its pieces appear in museums such as the Hermitage and in many private collections, which gives the brand strong historical prestige. The factory’s porcelain is known for bright glazes, detailed hand painting, and frequent use of cobalt blue and gold decoration.
