Eighteenth-century Höchst Porcelain covered a broad range of luxury goods. The factory-made dinner and tea services, coffee pots, cups, plates, tureens, and serving dishes. It also produced vases, snuffboxes, and elaborate figurines. Some groups showed scenes from everyday life, others drew on theatre, mythology, or exotic court scenes. The Landesmuseum Mainz holds a large group of Höchst figures, including a complete “court of the emperor of China,” which gives a clear picture of the factory’s output and style.
