What makes Royal Worcester porcelain valuable to collectors?

Updated: Jan 18

Collector value often tracks rarity, condition, artistry, and documentation. Early Worcester pieces relating to Dr. Wall's period may be of great interest, especially those relating to diminutive marks such as the crescent used before 1783, change of ownership. Hand-painted pieces can also be expensive, such as the painted fruit associated with the tradition started by Octar Copson and later as a recognizable style in the 20th century. Condition really matters, as chips, major gold losses, cracks, and restorations usually reduce prices significantly. Pedigree helps, as a paper trail or an old collection label can add credibility.
