What marks should I look for on Minton porcelain?

Many authentic pieces carry a backstamp with “Minton” or “Mintons.” Marks can be printed, impressed, or both, and may sit with pattern numbers or shape numbers. The style of mark helps place a piece in the firm’s timeline, yet a single photo is rarely enough for dating. Ask for a clear, straight-on image of the entire base and a close-up of any letters, numbers, or symbols. Watch for worn stamps on heavily used items, as wear does not prove age by itself.
