Why do some pieces say “Coalbrookdale” instead of “Coalport”?

"Coalbrookdale" appears in writing and on rare marked pieces, as the factory was located in the Coalbrookdale area and operated under that well-known industrial name. Reference sources describe "Coalbrookdale Porcelain" as a term occasionally used for Coalport production. Mark collectors consider a red-painted "COALBROOKDALE" mark rare, and some early pieces were left completely unmarked. For buyers, the mention may indicate an early piece or one with a special mark, but attribution still requires a thorough analysis of the paste, shape, and decoration, as well as comparison with documented examples.
