Marc Gené began his Formula One career in 1999 with the Minardi. That season marked his debut at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. He drove the Minardi M01 and competed in all 16 races that year. His best result came at the European Grand Prix, where he finished sixth and scored one championship point. That single point placed him 17th in the drivers’ standings. It was a notable result for a team that rarely reached the top ten. Gené’s performances showed consistency, with several race finishes despite the car’s limited pace. His work later led to roles as a test driver for Williams and Ferrari. Prints featuring his 1999 season often highlight this debut period, which collectors see as the starting point of a long motorsport career that later included success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
