Are Imperial Porcelain Factory items dishwasher safe?

Imperial Porcelain Factory

Many modern Imperial Porcelain items without gold decoration can go into a dishwasher on gentle cycles, yet gold-rich patterns such as Cobalt Net are usually better washed by hand. Retailers selling factory plates with cobalt and gold mention that the items are hand painted with 22-karat gold and recommend hand washing to preserve the finish. Dishwashers expose porcelain to strong detergents and hot water jets, which can gradually dull gilding or fine enamel lines. If you choose to use a dishwasher for simpler patterns, pick a delicate cycle, avoid overcrowding, and place cups and bowls securely so they do not knock against each other. Never put pieces labelled “hand wash only” into the machine. Vintage Soviet-era items with older gilding deserve special care, since replacement or restoration is difficult and can affect value. Reading care labels from official retailers for each specific pattern is a practical approach.
