Rare examples may climb far higher and large wall plaques, unusual dogs, or limited production models sometimes pass £200 during specialist sales. Condition shapes price more than age alone, chips around ears, tails, or paws reduce values sharply.

Bright glaze, clean paintwork, and clear backstamps attract stronger bids, as collectors search for untouched examples kept inside cabinets rather than pieces exposed near sunlight or damp rooms. Auction records show rising interest in affordable mid-century pottery during the last decade. Younger buyers often start with Melba Ware since prices stay lower than Moorcroft or Beswick, as rare Beswick animal may reach four figures and Melba Ware gives a similar vintage look at a fraction of that cost.
