Did Höchst Porcelain use faience, porcelain, or both?

The Höchst factory produced both faience and true hard-paste porcelain. Early activity included tin-glazed earthenware (faience), which was easier to start while the porcelain recipe and kiln practice developed. Over time, hard-paste porcelain became the main focus, matching the achievements of Meissen and other German manufactories. The largest collection of old Höchst faience and porcelain, around 1,000 pieces, is associated with the company’s history and appears in documented collections linked to the brand.
