FRANZ has created both open-edition and limited-edition designs. Open-edition pieces remain in production for several years, especially popular giftable items such as small vases, jewellery boxes, or tableware with floral themes. Limited editions usually appear in connection with anniversaries, museum partnerships, or special art projects. The company has cooperated with institutions such as the National Palace Museum in Taipei and Beijing’s Palace Museum on themed porcelain that relates to historic artworks or imperial motifs. These projects often come with certificates stating edition size, individual number, and project background. Retired designs that were not formally limited still behave like limited pieces in practice once production stops, since no new stock appears.
