Does Noritake still make bone china, or only porcelain and stoneware now?

Noritake continues to offer bone china along with porcelain and stoneware. The company explains on its tableware site that bone china uses bone ash together with kaolin and other materials, fired to create a very white, translucent yet strong body, suited to formal dining and giftware. Porcelain, in contrast, uses a different mix and firing curve, with high whiteness and durability but slightly different feel and translucency. Stoneware lines such as Colorwave provide casual strength for everyday meals, with coloured glazes and more relaxed styling. On product pages for current patterns, Noritake identifies the body type, so shoppers can choose between bone china for traditional formal sets or porcelain and stoneware for versatile dining. Bone china production may focus on selected patterns and markets, yet it remains an active part of the brand’s range rather than a purely historical material.
