What do Aynsley backstamps look like?

„Aynsley“ stamps vary over time, but many share a few recurring elements: the word “Aynsley,” a crown motif in some eras, and country of origin text such as “England” or “Made in England.” In brand histories, rather than on each stamp, Longton references may be given as a “Stoke-on-Trent” context, so don’t expect all stamps to have the local inscription. Consistency is key, where the mark should look professionally printed or embossed under the glaze and should not smear or peel. If you see a stamp that is lying on the surface of the glaze like paint, handle it with care. For clues to the date, compare the exact layout, font, crown style, and scroll shape, with examples from established stamp guides or sources held in museum archives.
